Introduction to Governmental Accounting

A CSMFO Core Course

8:30 a.m.-11:30 a.m., Tuesday & Wednesday, July 8 & 9, 2025 

The Introduction to Government Accounting course welcomes all participants with a general interest in accounting.  The two-day course provides an overview of basic accounting concepts and terminology.  Important topics that are unique to governmental accounting are highlighted throughout the course.  Participants with all levels of experience are welcome.

The course will cover these topics:

  • Basic Accounting Concepts
  • The Accounting Process
  • Role of the Budget
  • Governmental Accounting

This class is limited to 60 participants.  Advance registration is required for this class.

This course will be delivered in two sessions:

Session One:  Tuesday, July 8, 2025, 8:30 am - 11:30 am

Session Two:  Wednesday, July 9, 2025, 8:30 am - 11:30 am

Continuing Professional Education:  Attendees earn 6 hours of CPE Credit (Accounting & Auditing, Government) by attending all sessions.  Attendees must attend all sessions to obtain CPE credit.
