Speaker Bio:
Sheldon Chavan has practiced public accounting since 1998. He holds a B.S. in Accounting from San José State University, is a California-licensed CPA, and a member of AICPA, CalCPA, and GFOA. Sheldon oversees technical review, staffing, scheduling, reporting, and state and federal compliance. He provides firmwide expertise in U.S. GAAS, GAO Government Auditing Standards (Yellow Book), and the Federal Single Audit Act (OMB Circular A-133), and administers the firm’s quality control system. Throughout his career, Sheldon has performed Single Audits and specialized in complex federal programs, including CDBG, HUD programs, Highway Planning and Construction, Medi-Cal, IDEA, ARRA, and others. He also leads in-house training and ensures compliance with continuing professional education requirements.
